Recently, there was a discussion in a parenting forum when we were talking about life after 40. Thought I should paste my reply in my own blog as a constant reminder for myself on days when I feel a little lost as a SAHM.
Here goes:::
“One of the Sundays, while watching our Pastor, who I think is in his 50s, preaching and jumping around on stage… I was thinking…
At the prime age of 50+, pastor get to represent Singapore in the Polo sea game (i think it is sea game), and together with the team, they got Singapore’s first ever Polo silver medal! And at this age, he is still trying new things he had never tried before!
Ps Lawrence Khong is my inspiration!!!
On average, Singapoean live till about 80?
From age 50 to 80, we have a good 30 years ahead!!!!
Honestly, to me, 50 is the beginning of prime. By than, my kiddos are of certain stable age, (at least post teen), I would have matured a great deal, more experience, seen more, heard more, etc etc.
That time would probably be the best time to start my life again!!! To look forward to life, and perhaps, go back to study, go back to society, if no one wanna employ me, I can at least be a good nanny, tuition teacher, etc
…
I don’t know about 40s, I think i will still be pretty busy with my children at that age.
But, I’m certainly looking forward to 50 years old!!!
For now, I will have to get myself physically fit and ready, so that I will still have the energy by than
Just sharing my super optismistic thought
