Malacca Trip (4 – 8 Oct 07)

28 10 2007

This is a very belated entry… Oh well… better late than never.

It is time::: My in-laws have relatives in Malacca, and they frequent Malacca every other month.  After years of pestering :P , I finally agreed to make a trip there with them.  Without children, I am very adventurous, but with kids, I am really not looking forward to hours of bus ride handling them alone.  Now that Zoe is able to go without stroller, I thought it is the right time to make a trip there.

The Bus ride::: The 4 hours bus ride was easy to go by.  First 2 hours of excitement plus some simple things that I brought along to keep the children occupied, followed by lunch-break, and another 2 hours of nap for the kids.  It was a brisk.

What did we do?  Actually really nothing much… Malacca is such a great place to just chill out and relax.  No itinerary to follow, we do whatever we feel like doing.  Simple things like swimming pool kept the children happy.  For the adults, we have facial done by my aunt there, top up with hair-do at a salon, some shopping, yummy food, especially their yummy chendol, the Malacca style!

Grands::: EZ are also happy to spend time with their grands, and vice versa.  Of course the purpose of the visit is for the grand to ’showcast’ their beloved grandchildren to the relatives there.  I’m just glad that they enjoyed tremendous time with EZ.

Malacca’s Must-Eat & Must-Do::: for Gula Melaka lovers, Jonker Dessert at Jonker Walk is something that cannot be missed out.  Jonker Walk is a street with local products.  It is only open on Friday and Saturday night.

Overall::: This was a very blessed trip.  Our relatives and my in laws are very accomodating, especially towards my children, so much that I feel really bad.  Eg, things like nap, my mum-in-law will tell them to send us back for the kids to nap.

After this successful maiden trip for the EZ, we shall be making more trips up north via bus.  My in-laws aiming for Genting!!!

Thanks mum and dad, Serene, Gu Gu, Ah Teor for the trip and for accomodating with us so much.  Not forgetting all the gifts you have all showered upon us.
